SJa Series 5 full Press Pack!!

After months of waiting, the synopsis for each episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures, series five, is finally here… Excuse me while I SQUEEEE! You can feast your eyes on the full press pack at http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2011/09_september/27/sj.shtml which includes some fab interviews with Phil Ford, lead writer and co-producer, and Sinead Michael, who plays Sky in the brand new series. Wow, what a fantastic looking series we have in store! I for one cannot wait until October 3rd!

'The Complete 4th Season' Announced for DVD: Date, Cost and More

Earlier this month the BBC announced that SJA Series 4 was coming this year, and true to their word they announced today that The Sarah Jane Adventures - The Complete 4th Season will be available on December 6th. The 2-DVD set will cost $29.98 for approx. 360 minutes with six stories, each a 2-parter, coming to 12 episodes in all: "The Nightmare Man," "The Vault of Secrets," "Death of the Doctor," "The Empty Planet," "Lost in Time," and "Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith". The story "Death of the Doctor" features guest stars Katy Manning as Jo Jones (nee Grant) and Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor.

Extras, if any, have not been revealed. Nor is there any word about a possible Blu-ray Disc version (even though one will be available for this title in the U.K.). Full-sized package art for the DVD isn't available so far, but you can see a thumbnail look at the box above and to the right. Lest you lose count, this season isn't the final one for the program! The show had completed exactly half of the fifth series filming before star Elisabeth Sladen ("Sarah Jane Smith") sadly passed away from cancer in April. We'll certainly let you know when the fifth and final season comes to DVD in North America, though, so please stay tuned.

New episodes starting Monday, Oct. 3rd !!

The BBC have today confirmed with the episode synopsis, that series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures will air on Monday 3rd October with part one of "Sky" followed by part two on Tuesday.

Part One: In today's episode, Sarah Jane finds a baby girl on her doorstep and tries to find out who abandoned her.

At a nearby nuclear power station, a beautiful woman appears out of thin air and uses alien powers to take control. She's looking for something – and realises that Sarah Jane may just have it...

Part Two: Sky has undergone an amazing transformation, but in doing so has triggered a countdown that no one can stop.

As Sarah Jane and Sky find themselves trapped between the alien war fought by Metalkind and Fleshkind, Clyde and Rani face a race against time to stop the biggest bang in history...
